TEMIZ™ Polar RP Methylester
Polar RP Methyl Ester is a mesoporous, rigid polymeric resin with a combination of semi-hydrophilic and lipophilic properties for use in separation, batch binding or scavenging.
Resin properties | |
Resin matrix | DVB/Sty |
Particle size | 200-1250 µm |
Porosity | Mesoporous |
Surface functionality | Semi-polar RP Me-Ester |
The resin chemistry backbone consists of highly stable DVB-Styrene with semi-polar Methyl ester groups.
With a new surface chemistry combination, this material offers a new selectivity for retaining organic compounds. Its unique rigid structure allows for effective binding in both aqueous and non-aqueous / organic solutions. Unlike conventional softer resins this resin will retain its porous structure in organic solvents, oils, and non-polar solutions.
The combination of semi-hydrophilic together with hydrophobic groups offers new interaction possibilities in terms of balance between those polarities. Adsorption of molecules will differ from conventional polymeric reversed phase (RP) materials that are only based on cross-linked styrene and from conventional cross-linked (meth)acrylates. Also the desorption will differ and therefore this new material will offer novel selectivities for separation and fractionation.
The large particles are optimal for preparative applications for both in adsorption in suspension or chromatographic processes.
