Recent publication: use of Sabit DVB-TBD in catalytic reactions

SABIT DVB-TBD is a potential game changer for users of organocatalyst superbases such as DBU or TBD. This new product features Triazabicylcodecene firmly immobilized on a rigid and higly porous solid carrier. It is an alternative to polymer supported bases such as PS-TBD Triazabicyclodecene -polystyrene resin bound products with only 1 or 2 % DVB. Sabit DVB-TBD with 50 % DVB has many new advantages, it can be used

  • in virtually any solvent
  • in flow systems
  • in repeated use

Successful use of Sabit DVB-TBD to catalyze the formation of trichloroacetimidates from alcohol and trichloroacetonitrile. Work conducted by Prof. Christian Pedersen at University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Trichloroacetimidate formation catalyzed by SABIT DVB-TBD

Results: using this new rigid resin with bound TBD led to efficient catalysis of the reaction with high % of conversion to product, without cumbersome product and catalyst separation. Read the full story with all details in our recent open access publication in Chemistry Methods 2026.
