TEMIZ Polar RR Amino is a mesoporous, rigid polymeric resin with a combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties for use in separation as weak anion exchange resin, as affinity resin with a selective ligand coupled to the amino grouop, batch binding, scavenging or as a novel solid phase synthesis material. The resin chemistry backbone consists of highly stable DVB-Styrene with polar and reactive primary aliphatic amino (NH2) groups.
| Resin Matrix | DVB/Sty |
| Porosity | Mesoporous |
| Functionality | Polar RR NH2 |
| Particle size | 200-1250 µm |
With a new surface chemistry combination, this material offers a new opportunities for various uses in chemistry and life sciences. Its unique rigid structure allows for unchanged surface accessibility and hence effective performance in both aqueous and non-aqueous / organic solutions. Unlike conventional softer resins this resin will retain its porous structure in both organic solvents, oils and non-polar solutions.
The amino group offers a multitude of surface manipulation possibilities to turn this resin into a novel affinity ligand. Via amide bonding chemistry using activated acids, short ligands can be immobilized on the surface and convert this to a novel selective solid phase separation material. The pore size is in the mesoporous range and is optimized for small molecules and oligomers. For larger molecules such as 30-mers or larger, other pore sizes are required –Â please contact us for tailor-made synthesis.
The large particles are optimal for preparative applications for both in adsorption in suspension or chromatographic processes as they quickly sediment and give very low back pressures in flow processes. Smaller particle sizes of this material can be provided upon request.
