Case studies, collaborations, testimonials

Trusted by Industry and Academia

Collaboration is in our DNA. We are widely recognized for our ability to bridge the gap between pioneering academic research and high-impact industrial applications. By combining our deep technical competence with a goal-oriented mindset, we consistently deliver results that drive innovation.

Our portfolio includes a diverse range of successful projects. We are proud of our public partnerships with leading academic institutions, where we push the boundaries of theory and practice. Alongside these, we have numerous collaborations with industry clients that have been highly successful. While many of these corporate projects remain confidential for strategic reasons, they represent a significant part of our track record in delivering high-value outcomes.

Whether public or private, our approach remains the same: we work focused, diligently, and with a singular goal to achieve the objective. Our track record is clear evidence of our ability to work together effectively to turn complex challenges into productive outcomes.

Plant protein clean-up & analysis of plant toxins

We conducted several successful projects on Vinnova funded projects for the removal of polyphenols and glyco-alkaloid toxins from industrial potato fruit juice streams. Also several master thesis students we co-supervised

Redstone Separations AB together with SLU, Department of Plant Breeding was awared two separate Vinnova funding projects, towards the development of novel selective resins for targeted removal of glyco-alkaloids and bitter polyphenolics:

ProUpSide: removing antinutritionals for protein upgrading in agroindustrial side streams: ProUpside 1

ProUpSide – optimization and scale-up of agro-industrial side stream purification: ProUpSide 2

With co-supervision together with Dr. Bill Newson, SLU, 3 master thesis projects were successfully conducted:

  1. Title: Evaluation of novel resins for purification of non aqueous food materials. Pls click here to read more.
  2. Title: From Landscape to Lab: Utilization of Green Leafy Agricultural Biomass as a Source of Plant Proteins and Polyphenols Refining Proteins and Extracting Polyphenols with the Help of Polymeric Resins: refining Proteins and Extracting Polyphenols with the Help of Polymeric Resins. 3. A preliminary study of the potential use of ion exchange resins to remove phenolics and glycoalkaloids from potato Protein Concentrate. Pls click here to read more.

Synthesis & purification of bio-therapeutic peptides

Master thesis projects with supervision from academics from the Center of Analysis and Synthesis at Lund University, Sweden were conducted on i) peptide synthesis and ii) high performance peptide separation

Polymer substrates for the separation and analysis of bio-therapeutics; this project was on the synthesis of 10 µm highlyl cross-lined PS/DVB particles for use in HPLC for the separation of eg peptides.

Example separation of Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH; 1st peak) and Insulin (2nd peak). Water, 0.1 % formic acid, 10-50 % AcN (60 mins). Flow: 0.2 ml/min. Reversed Phase resin based on DVB/Styrene prototype with 300 Å pores.

Title: Comparative Evaluation of New Resins Versus Commercially Available Resins in Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis.

Master thesis conducted under leadership of Copenhagen University, group of Knud Jensen with co-supervision at Lund University Sweden utilizing R&D samples of SPPS resins.

Concept study on rare earth metal retrieval

A collaboration with Dr. Seda Demirel Topel on the evaluation of novel resins for the adsorption of rare earth metals. Redstone Separations has sponsored the resins for testing and materials, and Prof Topels group at Antalya Bilim University has taken the initiative to conduct this project and contributes with expertise and the practical work.

Custom packing service of novel material type
