TEMIZ™ DVB-NH2-SPE

Temiz DVB-NH2-SPE is a novel weak anion resin for use in SPE solid phase extractions as sample preparation prior to analysis. The material is mesoporous and thus optimal for organic molecules, peptides, oligo-nucleotides and small proteins.

Properties of Temiz SPE resins:

  • Backbone: highly cross-linked DVB/Styrene
  • Particle size: ca 20 – 90 µm
  • Pore size, av: 125 Å
  • BET area: 700 m2/g
  • Pore vol: 0,75 ml/g
  • Surface chemistry: primary amine
  • Ion exchange capacity: ca 0,5 mmol/g

Material and surface chemistry: primary amine in combination with a rigid DVB hydrophobic backbone.

Applications

The resin offers the combination of polar primary amino groups, weak anion exchange interactions with hydrophobic backbone moeities. Due to the high rigidity of the resins, they perform well both in non-polar and polar organic solvents  but also aqueous solutions.

As analytical separation product, the applications are in high sensitivy analysis, eg SPE combined with LC-MS/MS with selectivity towards a wide selection of small or oligomeric compounds: 

  • Common pharma compounds, peptides, small proteins and short oligonucleotides
  • Oligonucleotides bind via negatively charged phosphate backbone
  • Peptides / proteins with low isoelectric points, bind via predominantly negative charges such as from glutamic or aspartic acid or tyrosine 
  • Removal of strong anions such as sulfonic acids from aqueous solution
  • Separation of organic acids, lipids, alcohols, sugars, steroids and other substances
  • Drugs and their metabolites in biological matrix (urine, blood)
  • Pesticides, insecticides etc in food and water
As scavenger:
The resin can also be used as a scavenger of aldehydes, acid, and many other molecules etc in a suspension mode. The resin sediments well.
 
As affinity base material:
The resin can also be employed as a carrier of affinity ligands for coupling of appropriate structures on the surface, such as ligands, peptides, proteins or oligonucleotides.
 
As solid phase synthesis material:
The resin can also be employed as a carrier for the solid phase synthesis of organic molecules, short peptides or short oligonucleotides and other short structures utilizing the rigid surface of these novel carriers.
