Separation of Rare Earth Elements from Water and Adsorption Mechanisms Using Polymeric Resins with Functional Groups

A collaboration with Dr. Seda Demirel Topel on the evaluation of novel resins for the adsorption of rare earth metals is ongoing.

Rare Earth Elements (REEs) are a group of 17 chemically similar metallic elements (15 lanthanides plus scandium and yttrium) essential for modern electronics, green energy systems, and other technologies.

Redstone Separations has sponsored the resins for testing and materials, and Prof Topels group at Antalya Bilim University has taken the initiative to conduct this project and contributes with expertise and the practical work. 

This is a globally a very important topic and we hope that our findings will contribute to a more sustainability and availability of industrially important rare earth metals.
