With a new surface chemistry combination, this material offers a new selectivity for retaining organic compounds. Its unique rigid structure allows for effective binding in both aqueous and non-aqueous / organic solutions. Unlike conventional softer resins this resin will retain its porous structure in organic solvents, oils and non-polar solutions.

The amino group offers a multitude of surface manipulation possibilities to turn this resin into a novel affinity ligand. Via amide bonding chemistry using activated acids, short ligands can be immobilized on the surface and convert this to a novel selective solid phase separation material. The pore size is in the mesoporous range and is optimized for small molecules and oligomers. For larger molecules such as 30-mers or larger, other pore sizes are required. 

The large particles are optimal for preparative applications for both in adsorption in suspension or chromatographic processes.
